About the Programme:
A technical talk on “Challenges of Constructions and Timely Action of Civil Engineers – Need of the Hour” was delivered by Dr. Bharathi Ganesh, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru in seminar hall 2 (second floor) of ACSCE for the benefit of civil engineering students and faculty members between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM under the auspices of civil engineering association (CORE). The challenges faced by civil engineers right from conception to construction of various types of projects were brought out in a very interesting and lucid manner with the aid of visuals. Several very interesting case studies were taken for discussion. These included Bhuj Khalifa Tower, Underground Tunnels, Underwater Constructions, Bridges, Flyovers Roads in difficult terrain etc. Another important component of the lecture was aimed at motivating the civil engineering students and the speaker spent considerable time with great success. The speaker addressed the queries raised by the students in a very satisfying and convincing manner. The students and the faculty members found the technical lecture quite informative, motivating and enlightening. The lecture was well attended and received by students. The speaker was kind enough to share the power point slides with the students and faculty members.

Annual Sports Meet Report – 2016:
The College playground of ACS College of Engineering was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 18th and 19th November 2016 as the college celebrated its Annual Sports Extravaganza. Almost 1000 students from the college participated in the event.
The programme began with our Management’s support. The principal Dr.M.S.Murali welcomed the esteemed gathering and emphasised on the importance of sports in life. In his address, he also applauded the coordinators Dr.C.S.Pillai and Dr.R.Siva subramaniyam, for their outstanding contribution for the event.
The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events such as Volley Ball, Throw Ball, Basket Ball and Track events. The principal applauded the effort of the students and the teachers for making the event a huge success. The Physical Education Director Mr.Santhosha M S thanks all the volunteers, Teaching and Non Teaching staff for their support for making the event a huge success.
After the students’ events the parents and staff members also participated enthusiastically in the events scheduled for them. The Principal and Vice Principal distributed the certificates and prizes for all categories. The day ended with a cheerful note, heralding the year 2016, also filled with promises for all the young sports enthusiasts.
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering signed MoU with Eduwize,Bangalore
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of ACS college of Engineering has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Eduwize,Bangalore on his MoU reaffirms the commitment of CSE department and Eduwize,Bangalore on their partnership to the objective of training the students and collaborative research with an industry.Eduwize,Bangalore has supported CSE department of ACSCE for conducting Internship Training Program.

About the Programme:
Department Electrical and Electronics engineering has organized a technical talk on 11.03.2016 at seminar hall-2 under Electrovision association. The function was presided by Dr.S S Patil, HOD EEE dept., Mr.Ananda, Asst.Prof was the speaker and he spoke on the topic “Applications of fibre Optic Current Sensor “. He focused mainly on the various control system applications of the industries in which the fibre optic current sensors are actively implemented. He spoke about his experience on the usage of fibre optic sensors in ABB Ltd., in which he has worked earlier. He explained the HALL effect principles and elaborated the basic principles in which fibre optic current sensors works. He also told about the future scope of using fibre optic sensors for other industrial control applications.the program was concluded with vote of thanks from Mr.Naveen, Asst.Prof , EEE dept

About the Programme:
Department Electrical and Electronics engineering has organized a technical talk on 17.03.2016 at seminar hall-3 under Institution of Engineers (IEI) and Electrovision association. The function was presided by Dr.M.S Murali (Principal ACSCE), Prof. Elangovan, Vice Principal (Admin), Dr. S Venugopalan (CORI, PESIT),Dr.S S Patil, HOD EEE dept. The function started with invocation song from Ms.Ramya 8th SEM, EEE followed by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Dr.S S Patil, HOD, EEE dept., presented welcome address. Principal Dr.M.S Murali addressed the audience and appreciated the department for conducting activities under department association and IEI. He advised the students to make use of this technical talk by learning new technology beyond the curriculum. He gave some brief idea about today’s topic with examples of implementation. Prof.Elengovan addressed the gathering by congratulating the department for conducting various events, he advised the students to build some projects on new technology such as Electric Vehicle Technology in coordination with other departments. Mr.Dheeraj Sagar, 6th sem, EEE indroduced the resource person to the gathering.Technical talk on “Electric Vehicle Technology” was presented by Dr. Venugopalan. He explained why electric vehicles are used, advantages, types of vehicles, electric vehicle system configurations, comparison between various battery technologies, global approach to zero emission mobility. Program was ended with presentation of memento to the resource person by Dr.S S Patil, HOD EEE and vote of thanks by Mr.Jayanth N, 8th sem. The anchoring for the function was done by Ms. Naziya Khanum & Ms. Bharathi of 8th semester.
Science Forum Model & Poster Exhibition on 19th March 2016

About the Programme:
The program started by invocation song by Varshini and Bhvanapriya, Section F followed by welcoming the Prof. Murali, Principal, ACSCE and Prof. Elaongovan, vice principal Admin, ACSCE, ,Prof. Prasanna kumar, vice principal Academic, ACSCE. Inauguration was done by lighting the lamp. Dr. Bhavyashree from department of Physics told about the aims and objectives of the science forum. Students were encouraged and appreciated for their efforts by Principal in his inaugural address. He also suggested faculties to motivate the students to participate in inter-college and national level competition for more exposure. Principal Sir congratulated and suggested to organize some more events in future. The program ended with vote of thanks given by Deepa, Asst. Prof. dept. of Mathematics.
Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 23rd March 2016

About the Programme:
ACS College of Engineering conducted a BLOOD DONATION camp in the campus under National Service Scheme (NSS) in association with the Lion’s Club Bangalore- South, RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital, Rashtrotthana Blood Bank & Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospitals on 23.03.2016. The NSS unit planned and organized this event and to their surprise the response was huge. Many students voluntarily came up to donate the blood.
The Lion’s Club & RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital helped the organizers to conduct a camp as such in the college. NSS Programme Officer Prof. M. Shivakumar M.S said” We are happy to conduct such a drive in our college and we are quite surprised by the response of the students. We wish to conduct many such events in the college and also would make sure to conduct this camp every year in our college. Many checkups for blood pressure and other tests were conducted by the doctors. We take the opportunity to thank Lions Club & RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital for their support and encouragement. “, says the organizers of the event.
Our Principal Dr. M.S.Murali, Vice Principal Prof. R.R.Elangovan made their gracious presence in the camp which started at 9.30 a.m and went upto 2.00 p.m.
Refreshments were provided to the students who were part of the camp. The Volunteers took immense care to meet the requirements of students after donating the blood, so as to avoid any mishaps in the campus. Kevin Jacob Santhosh EEE-2nd Sem student said,” It feels great to participate in the event. I being a group donor (O+ve) felt the urge to donate the blood as it is required by many. Today accidents have increased and blood is very much in need for each and every hospital, we students don’t feel so much responsible to go to blood banks and donate the blood, therefore conducting such events in college would surely make us aware of our health as well as the need of blood in this world. The huge words and quotes on the posters had an impact on the students, attracted us and made us to donate the blood. The camp is organized in a much disciplined manner checking each and every aspect of our health. Would like to see such camps and many other such events happen in our college.”
Dr. Pradeepa S.M was present, inspecting every aspect of the camp throughout the day, all the students sincerely thank our Supervisor Mr. Dharmalingam helped us to conduct the event.

The Department of CIVIL Engineering of ACS college of Engineering has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with CADD Centre Training Services, Kengeri Bengaluru on his MoU reaffirms the commitment of Civil Engineering department and CADD Centre Training Services, Kengeri on their partnership to the objective of training the students and collaborative research with an industry. CADD Centre Training Services, Kengeri has supported Civil Engineering department of ACSCE for conducting CADD Training Program.
IISc Visit for First year Students on Open Day (05/03/2016)

Outcome of the Program:
The first year students of all branches of Engineering and the basic science faculties visited IISc on 05/03/2016, open day. The Research activities of all the departments were displayed. The students and the faculties had a good interaction with the researchers. They were able to know the recent research works being conducted in all departments. The students found greater interest in the field of nano science and its applications especially the mechanism of dust free particles in the room. The other interesting application was the unmanned aero vehicle.
The students were very enthusiastic and the visit was motivational for their further study and research.
