The students of 3rd semester Biomedical Engineering visited the Anatomy Lab at Rarajeswari Medical College and Hospital accompanied along with the faculty member Mr. Naveen T.S. Assistant Professor ,Department of Biomedical Engineering ,ACS College of Engineering on 4th November 2019.
Dr.Vineesh, Assistant Professor , Department of Anatomy , demonstrated and explained the anatomy of the major human organs. The students were able to see various human organs such as heart , kidney, lungs, brain, stomach, pancreas, large and small intestine, skull ,vertebral column , liver etc.
The session was from 2pm to 4pm.
Students got immensely benefitted by the demonstration and detailed explanation of various organs of human body. Since the 3rd semester students have Human Anatomy and Physiology subject in their curriculum.

National Aerospace Laboratories Visit

About the Visit :
Students visited CSIR- NAL and got an exposure to see present Indian achievements in the aircraft design, manufacturing and testing. The visit started at 10.30AM and the students have seen the trisonic wind tunnel, acoustic test facility and Hansa aircraft. The wind tunnel models have given them an idea on wind tunnel testing.

In the visit students had a visual exposure about the wind tunnel and their sub systems. During the visit the students interacted with the scientists about the construction and working principle of wind tunnel, testing of satellites, rockets and missiles in acoustic test faculty and construction of Hansa aircraft. The students were expressed that this program was highly useful to them to understand the journey of Indian aviation and as well as to gain the knowledge on aircraft sub-systems. The visit finished by 1.30 pm after taking the opinion and feedback from students.

This workshop provides a forum for imparting specific knowledge in the areas of propulsion, aerodynamics, aerospace materials, structures and CFD. The students were expressed that this program was highly useful to them to understand the rapid advances taken place in the field of aeronautics.

About the Visit
The Seminar titled “Small UAV’s – Growing Opportunities in Universities Seminar” was organized to enrich the knowledge of Aerospace students to get exposure on design, development, integration and validation of various avionics systems for different UAV’s.
The program was started at 2.00 PM with the welcome speech by HOD/AS and followed by introduction of the resource person Dr. G. Ramesh by Mr. J. Siva, Asst. Prof. ASE. The resource person handled an interactive session about the fundamentals of UAV Flight controls, design and avionics systems. The contents of this talk were related to different types of small UAV’s developed in NAL. The resource person shared the information about the importance of the following aspects.
- Control and Simulation
- Gyroscopes
- Flight controls
- Autopilots
- Miniature design
- Applications of UAV’s
In between interaction with students and questionnaire to test the ability of students and the resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills through different case studies as it’s still beginning vast domain. SWACHHATA HI SEWA Campaign

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Our Institution is one of the Participating Institutions (PI) under UBA. UBA emphasized on the implementation of ‘plastic free Campaign’ during 11th September to 2nd October 2019 in the adopted villages.
In this regard, our institution planned for the event in collaboration with NSS on 1st October 2019 at our adopted villages. About 100 students of Aeronautical, Aerospace, Civil & Mechanical Engineering volunteered along with four faculty members namely Dr. Suresh P M, Mr. Srinidhi Acharya S R, Mr. Rakesh S of Mechanical Engineering and Mr. Shivashankar of Civil Engineering.
Students and faculty members explained the ill effects of plastics and recommended not to use plastics. Instead of plastics, reusable bags can be used which saves the environment and animals. School children and the people of the villages responded and assured that they will say no to plastics and also welcomed the initiative. Students also collected the plastics from the houses and surrounding areas. The campaign was successful in imparting “SWACHHATA HI SEWA” and “Say no to Plastics”

The Seminar titled “Introduction to GNSS” was organized to enrich the knowledge of Aerospace students to get exposure on Global Navigation Satellite Systems and its applications to various fields.
The program was started at 11.00 AM with the welcome speech by HOD/AS and followed by introduction of the resource person Mr. Bharathidasan and Ms. S. Sangeetha (Accord Software and Systems Ltd) by Mr. J. Siva, Asst. Prof. ASE. The resource person handled an interactive session about the fundamentals of GPS, Glonass, IRNSS, Compass, QZSS and Galileo. The contents of this talk were related to navigation systems and its applications in civil and defence sector. The resource person shared the information about the importance of the following aspects and also hands on experience was given in multi view GNSS receiver manufactured by Accord.

Initially we started our session with the introduction of “User Interface Design” which stated User interface design or UI design generally refers to the visual layout of the elements that a user might interact with in a website, or technological product. This could be the control buttons of a radio, or the visual layout of a webpage.
User interface design or UI design generally refers to the visual layout of the elements that a user might interact with in a website, or technological product. This could be the control buttons of a radio, or the visual layout of a webpage. User interface designs must not only be attractive to potential users, but must also be functional and created with users in mind and User interface design can dramatically affect the usability and user experience of an application. If a user interface design is too complex or not adapted to targeted users, the user may not be able to find the information or service they are looking for. In website design, this can affect conversion rates. The layout of a user interface design should also be clearly set out for users so that elements can be found in a logical position by the user.
User interface designs should be optimized so that the user can operate an application as quickly and easily as possible. Many experts believe that UI design should be simple and intuitive, often using metaphors from non-computer systems. With a more intuitive user interface design, users will be able to navigate around a website easily, finding the product or service they want quickly. One way to check the intuitiveness of a user interface design is through usability testing. The feedback from usability testing can then be used to optimize the user interface design of a prototype or final product.
