About the Resource Person :

Dr. Madeva Nagaral is working as a Deputy Manager in Configuration and Mass Properties Group, Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He has done his BE and M.Tech from Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot. He has pursued his Ph.D from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in the year 2020 in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, MVJ College of Engineering, Bangalore, for the period of three years (2009-2011). Also, has worked as an Engineer in Bharat Electronics Limited, for the period of one year.

He is the recipient of State Award (2014) by Karnataka Government and Jagajyothi Shri Basaveshwar Kayakashree (2015) and Karnataka Bhushana (2015) and Sir M Visvesvaraya (2016) award by Karnataka Sanskrutik Academy, Bangalore, Basav Ratna (2016) from Basav committee Bijapur for his outstanding contribution in the field of Science and Technology. Chosen for IIFS most coveted ‘Bharat Jyoti’ award and also chosen for ‘The Best Inspiration Leadership Award’ by Top Engineers Association, Chennai and received by Chief Minister of Pondichery on 26th March 2017, IRSD Outstanding Researcher Award-2017. He has also received Best Faculty Award for the year 2010 at MVJ College of Engineering, Bangalore. He is the recipient of Engineer of the year-2019 Award by the International Association of Research and Developed Organization, Goa on 18th August 2019.

Since 2012, his 151 research papers have been published (which includes 51 Scopus Indexed) in National and International Journals and he has presented more than 104 research papers in national and international conferences organized at various engineering colleges all over the country. His research papers are having more than 798 Google Scholar Citations. He guided more than 51 UG and 33 PG projects. 67 international journal papers were reviewed, as a reviewer.

43 guest talks were delivered as a key note resource speaker in various engineering colleges of India. He has chaired as a Guest and Session Judge for National and International Conferences held at various Engineering Colleges.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, SPARK Organizes webinar in Association with SAE Club, in its efforts to create skills for the enterprising youth who are capable of surviving in a society has been making some interventions in this direction through its Webinar Program. The Webinar programs are targeted both for students of the various students of Aeronautical, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering branch students. This Webinar is designed to train the students in the area of Application of CAD/CAM/CAE for the today engineering world.

Create an awareness of the need and importance of CAD/CAM/CAE

•  Impart knowledge and develop skills in diverse training methods in imparting training to students.
•  Plan curriculum that can imbibe the skills and competencies to achieve goals directed by values, have a positive attitude and have the ability to cope with the changing times.
•  Develop students a professional mindset.
•  Make them aware about Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing and Computer Aided Engineering.
•  Guide them for techniques of using CAD tools. Guide them for “Techniques of handling tools”.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the skill development program w for the 2nd year and 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students. The session was handled by the Ashwin Kumar, Design Engineer from CADDMAXX Solution Private Limited Bangalore.

The program has been developed to cater to spectrum of engineering students to enhance their skills and grow their career through higher productivity and technical expertise meeting industry needs. The program organized for Upgrading Design Engineers Skills in Product Development Support Activities, using cutting Edge Technology Tools based on Domain Centric Professional Training Modules.

Better visualization of the final product, sub-assemblies and constituent parts in a CAD system speeds the design process. CAD software offers greater accuracy, so errors are reduced. Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) commonly refers to the use of numerical control (NC) computer software applications to create detailed instructions (G-code) that drive computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools for manufacturing parts. Manufacturers in a variety of industries depend on the capabilities of CAM to produce high-quality parts.

CAM systems can maximize utilization of a full range of production equipment, including high speed, 5-axis, and multi-function and turning machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM) and CMM inspection equipment.

About the Program :

The Edu-Cadd seminar was organized to enrich the knowledge of Mechanical Engineering students to get exposure on design and analysis software’s on 12-02-2021.

The program was started at 11.30 AM with the welcome speech by HOD-ME and followed by introduction of the resource person Mr. Sunil. The resource person handled an interactive session about the introduction to AutoCAD, CATIA, Simulation models by NX CAD, HYPERMESH and ANSYS fundamentals. The resource person shared the information about the design software’s used in Mechanical Engineering industries.

The resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills in software training. The students were expressed that this seminar was highly useful to them w.r.t to design software’s required for Mechanical Engineering domain. Finally, the seminar was ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Siva Shankar Asst. Prof.

Awareness program GATE was organized to enrich the knowledge of Mechanical Engineering students to get exposure/preparation for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering on 12-09-2020.

The program was started at 11.30 AM with the welcome speech by HOD-ME and followed by introduction of the resource. The session was started by tell the students the importance of GATE, the opportunities with respect to various Public Sector Units. A detailed list of PSU’s which accept GATE as mandatory for job. Not just PSU’s even some private player also accept GATE.

Later the resource person “ Mrs. Manjula S” explained the various rebates in rates for GATE Coaching with VANI institute for meritorious students. A detailed list of rates and reduction were explained by the resource person along with the list of centers for taking up the coaching based on student preference.

Finally, the awareness program was ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Sandeep G. R. Asst. Prof.
