Aero India 2019 Visit

About the Visit
Students visited Aero India 2019 and got an exposure to see present Indian achievements in the aircraft design & manufacturing, Air Show. The visit started at 10.00AM. They have seen several aircrafts belongs to India and other countries like USA, Russia, France and Italy. All air breathing engine models like Turbojet, Turbo-prop, Turbo shaft etc models have given them an idea about the constructions of engine parts. The missile models and radars have given them an idea on defence related technologies.
Got the Exposure on
- Fighter, AWACS and Transport aircrafts
- Air-breathing Engines
- Landing Gear systems
- Missiles and Radar Systems
- Various Companies related to defence
- Drones and UAV’s
In the visit students had a visual exposure about different aircrafts and various parts. The students were expressed that this program was highly useful to them to understand the journey of Indian aviation (both civil and military) and as well as to gain the knowledge on aircraft sub-systems. The visit finished by 02.30pm after taking the opinion and feedback from students.

Mrs.sunita chalageri , Assistant Professor, Dept of CSE is the coordinator for this e-shikshana.

About the Event
A one-day technical event on “Unix Founder’s Day” was organized at the auditorium on Friday, 22nd February 2019 at ACS college of engineering, Bengaluru. Prof. Dr M.S.Murali principal of ACS college welcomes the participants and introduced the programme to all. The seminar was chaired by Dr. T. R. Gopalakrishna Nair, Rector, RRGI and Sri. C. N. Seetharam, CEO, RRGI.
On account of Unix Founder’s Birthday, Kenneth Thompson was born on February 1943 at New Orleans, Louisiana. They call him “Ken”, he is one of the creator of UNIX operating system and co-inventor of the “C” language. On occasion of his birthday we have celebrated Unix Founder’s Day in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, ACS College of Engineering, Bengaluru.
The chair person spoke briefly on Unix founder and also told about programming skills what students require to compete in the emerging technical world. He motivated the students to eagerly participate in the events.
The events conducted on Unix Day was Rectification, Decoding, Unix shell Scripting and Quiz to exhbit the students inner knowledge. The technical event was very interesting and gave the opportunity to show the talent of students in Programming. In these days without the programming knowledge no one can survive in the technical world.
The basic idea of this event is to enhance the student participation in technical events and reveal their inbuilt knowledge which they have. Basic shell programming had 3 rounds with first round with multiple choice. In this round they had shell commands to be chosen among the given option for a particular command. Second round is of shell scripting where the students can write scripting in unix language. Third round is the advanced one of second where students can win only if they have the real knowledge of shell scripting.
Decoding event is based on C language. Total of three rounds with initial of single line decoding, second round is multi line decoding and final round is to decode the program and get the output in vi editor. Real talent of coding is needed to win this event.
Rectification is another event which also had three rounds. Initial round is multiple choice questions which should be answered in google forms. Second round is to rectify the errors in the given snippet. Final round is the decision of winner who rectifies the code in short span of time.
Final event is Quiz. Two participants per group is allowed in this event where pure technical questions of Unix and C were prepared and students also eagerly participated in this event. Second round is of buzzer round with technical questions of commands and output prediction. Third round is a rapid round with group of question to a team. This decided the winner of this event.
The program was successfully concluded with prize distribution by the judges and ended with a formal vote of thanks to all the participants in the event.

Industrial visit – Government Tool Room & Training Centre

A complete report on industrial visit organized by ACS college of Engineering , for the students of Mechanical Engineering [3rd SEM] in order to get the practical knowledge about “advanced technology used in manufacture of sophisticated moulds, dies and tools” carried out by Government tool room & training center [GTTC} .
DETAILS OF JOURNEY
ACS college of Engineering had organized an industrial visit on 14 August , 2018 to GTTC located in Rajajinagar industrial Estate for the students of Mechanical Engineering.
The visit was organized by HOD of Mechanical engineering branch Prof. Siddesha H. S.
Prof. Rakesh S. & Prof. Bapu Gowda C. M. were the co-ordinators Faculty for the industrial visit.
We started travelling from the college campus at 10:30 am via our college bus. Totally 26 students along with 2 coordinators faculty were there in the journey.
GROUP OBSERVATION
- This Industrial visit is very helpful in our future practical Life & bring a positive change in our thinking & practical behavior regarding Education & specializing our technical skills.
- Got practical knowledge about the advancement in technology of machines.
- Use of programming in field of Mechanical engineering.

Mr. Santosh A., Senior Manager, Bosch Rexort, Bengaluru, handled a workshop on “Automation” at ACSCE II Floor Seminar Hall on 05/10/18 which is organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, ACSCE, for per-final and final year Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering Students.
All 5th & 7th Semester students of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering department attended the workshop and utilized it for their academic growth and to gain knowledge in the subject. Mr. Santosh’s talk covers the following areas: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, sensors, Programmable Logic Controller and Robotics & Mechatronics. He nicely presented the topics in depth. He explained the importance of the internship program which is been offered by Bosch and its partner ACSCE Mechanical Engineering Department. He explained how students could benefit from the program, since a MOU has been signed b/w Bosch & ACSCE ME DEPT., and a lab has been setup in the ACSCE campus.
