Industrial Visit to Skanray Technologies Ltd, Mysuru

Date: September 27, 2025
Location: Skanray Technologies Ltd. Mysuru
Semester: 7th Semester Students

The Department of Biomedical Engineering organized an industrial visit to Skanray Technologies Ltd. Mysuru, on 27th September 2025 for the 7th semester students.

The visit began at the Research and Development (R&D) Unit, where the students had the privilege of interacting with Mr. Vishwaprasad Alva, CEO of Skanray Technologies. He shared valuable insights and inspiring advice on life, career growth, and the importance of innovation in the biomedical field. Ms. Vijayalakshmi provided an informative overview of Skanray’s journey, milestones, and technological advancements.

Students were then introduced to various biomedical equipment and technologies, including:
  • • Baby Warmer
  • • Skan C-Arm
  • • Skanray 630/400/500 Models
  • • H-V Tank Testing Unit
  • • Ventilator and Anaesthesia Machine
  • • Patient Monitoring System (Star 90 Model)
  • • Surgiskan and CardiAid Systems
The team also explored the Sales and Applications Department, gaining exposure to the product lifecycle from development to deployment.
Later, the students visited the Skanray Healthcare Unit, where they observed the Radiology and Critical Care Manufacturing Divisions. The visit included demonstrations of advanced biomedical devices such as Dental X-Ray, SkanMobile DR Lite, ECG Machine, Microskan, Skanvet, SkanC Pulser, and Ventilator systems.

The final stop was at Lahari ESDM Advanced Electronics Testing Facility, where, through the CEO’s reference, the students had a unique opportunity to visit the EMI/EMC chamber and Vibration Testing Chamber. They learned about the importance of electronic testing and compliance in product design and development.

The visit provided students with an enriching learning experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry applications in biomedical technology.
