The Technical talk titled “Networking” was organized to enrich the knowledge of CSE students to get exposure on Computer networking skill, networking programming skill and the way to convert the concept into applications of network.
The program was started at 10.45 AM with the introduction of the resource person Prof. Anandi Giridharan by HOD/CSE. The resource person handled an interactive session about the fundamentals of networking. The contents of this talk were in the focus of surviving in the field of computer networking by knowledge and the resource person shared the information about the importance of the following aspects
History of Internet, Network Topologies, Types of Communication Networks
The 7-Layered OSI Model, TCP/TP
Understand IPv4 addressing, router, modem, bus and bridge works in a network.
Data – Flow in networks
Technologies like ATM, SONET, X.25
Tools/software available to build a own network and test virtually before implementation
Firewalls, TCP ports, UDP ports
NS2, MANET
Network Security, Cryptography
In between interaction with students and questionnaire to test the ability of students and the resource person motivated the students to enrich programming skills through different case studies. The students were replied that this program was highly useful to them to develop their career in software field. Finally the seminar was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. T. Senthil Kumaran convener of this technical talk.
