TESTIMONIAL BY ONE OF THE PARTICIPANTS ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
The workshop was conducted on 11/04/2018 and 12/04/2018 by Mr Ananth, Mr Rajesh, and Mr Ranjith on the topic based on “Software Testing”.
I found it useful because, it was a purely a practical session (hands on session) which gave us valuable experience.
It was an interactive session, where we felt free to ask doubts and industrial people were friendly, so that we never hesitated to ask doubts.
Since it was a practical session (hands on session) we learnt many new things related to
- Installing the testing
- Java development
- To store data in database
- Hosting and using testing
- Splc models
- Waterfalls
- Kinds of testing etc
We understood that test technique includes the process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding software bugs (errors or other defects) verifying that the software product is fit for use.
Software testing can be conducted as soon as executable software failures so that defects may be discovered & corrected.
There are many approaches available in software testing reviews walk through or inspections are referred to as static testing where actually executing programmed code with a given set cases is referred with a given set of test cases is referred to as dynamic testing.
Typically a grey box tests will be permitted to set up an isolated testing environment with activities such as seeding a database the tester can observe the state of the product being tested after performing certain actions such as executing SQL statements against the database and then executing to ensure that the expected changes have been reflected.
I finally conclude by saying that, I feel thankful to HOD and faculty of ECE department for bringing such experienced industry persons to our college which helped us gain lot of knowledge.

Webinar on Gender issues in Education

Outcome of the Program :
The session was organized to create awareness to ACSCE students and faculties about the gender issues and how our education system undermines gender equality. The program was started at 04.00 PM with the welcome speech by Dr.Ramanan, HOD/Aeronautical. The resource person handled an interactive session about there is a huge gender gap in education around the globe which can be a result of many inter sectional identities. The most common explanations for this gender gap are poverty, geographic remoteness, violence, disabilities, lack of infrastructure, or belonging to a minority ethno-linguistic group. The data ranges in different regions with the highest rates of gender inequality in education in Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.
He also pointed that understanding the connection between gender inequality and the lack of education opportunities can improve more sustainable development outcomes. Gender inequality cripples a nation’s economy at the expense of women. Policies and gender roles affect a nation’s education system by either not having a safe space for young girls to learn or not letting them have the opportunity of a quality education. According to UNESCO, an average of 130 million girls between the age of 6 and 17 are out of school and 15 million girls of primary-school age will never enter a classroom. Finally the session ended with discussion and vote of thanks by Mr.Dhanyaprakash R Babu, Associate Professor, Aeronautical Engineering.
Technical Talk on Recent Trends in Electronics

The Technical Talk was started with welcoming of Mr. Arun John and his team mates from CoreEL Technologies, Sandeepani School of VLSI & Embedded systems by Dr.M. Mathivanan.
The class was about the introduction to CoreEL technology. He started with the fastest growing technology that is integrated circuit (IC) technology. Compatibility of the IC’s and the types of IC’s, Application specific IC (ASIC) and Field programmable gate array (FPGA) was also discussed. ASIC is a type of IC which can be programmed only once and works on higher frequencies, and it is a Low power consumption which is used in mobile phone. FPGA is small prototype used in ASIC to integrate system on a chip (SOC) is combination of hardware and software.
The tool used is Vivado for sample programming, it is a software which can be used for all the front and back end design programming in any of the Embedded C or VHDL or Verilog. Practical examples along with simulation of the code were also shown to students which was really very useful.
The Speaker also explained about the present scenario in industries their expectations etc.
The overall Talk was very useful and benefitted to students.
