About the Event
The Department of Aerospace Engineering, ACS College of Engineering has organized a technical seminar on “ Accomplishments in space research and Applications – Global and Indian scenario” on 19th April 2022 in view of the First Indian Satellite Launch Day celebration.
The Program was started at 11:00 AM with the welcome address by the student representative Ms. Sangeetha, III year Aerospace Engineering followed by the Chief Guest Introduction by Mr. Supretej, III year Aerospace Engineering. Mr. G. R. Sandeep, Assistant Professor, greeted the resource person with memento and bouquet. Then the chief guest has started the session with the thank note to Dr. Mukesh R, Head of the Department, Aerospace Engineering. The resource person has explained about the following points;
- Todays significance in space history
- Contribution of Aryabhatta
- Orbits, satellites, need of space mission and research
- Overview of space activities and Indian space programme
- ISRO space missions
- IRNSS,ISS, HSP
- Recent space Events
At the end of the session, students actively interacted with the resource person to clarify their doubts. Finally the session ended with the vote of thanks by the student representative.

CAD CLASH – National Level Hackathon

About the Event
Department of Aeronautical Engineering conducted CAD CLASH-An Innovative Hackathom Competition from 9th Jan 2022 to 14th Jan 2022. The program was started at 10.00 AM with the welcome speech by Dr.Ramanan, HOD-Aero and followed by the facilitation by the students. Presidential address was given by Dr.M.S.Murali, Principal, ACSCE. Special address was given by Dr.A.K.Sarkar, Professor of Aeronautical Engineering. Vote of thanks proposed by Mr.Albert Allen D Mello, Assistant Professor. CAD CLASH is a National Level CAD modelling Hackathon conducted by ACS College of Engineering in association with simulacra technologies where skilled designers can compete against each other by creating CAD models. The competition was conducted in two rounds.
PRELIMINARY ROUND:
All the participants were provided with a predefined sketch. Designers will be given 90mins for modeling. Any 3D modeling software can be used. Teams that qualify in this round enter into final round. Each team will be given sketches of the model and assemblies that has to model by designers. Teams should replicate the model from the given sketch with proper dimensions defined in the sketch. Teams can use any of the allowed software to complete the assembly design within the time duration of 90 minutes. Each team should join the google meet and at the end of 1st round they must show their assemblies. Based on the completion and accuracy of assembly points will be allotted and teams will be selected for next round.
FINAL ROUND:
Four topics for modeling will be provided out of which only one has to be designed. One week time was provided for completing model. Winners were decided by the jury. In case of plagiarism, team will be disqualified immediately. In the FINAL round there will be four themes provided based on Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, Automobile and one general theme. Out of 4 themes, teams have to select only one theme and prepare CAD design. A week time will be given to submit the CAD Model in specific format. CAD model will be judged by the jury based on accuracy, design, creativity and innovation. In case of plagiarism, team will be disqualified immediately and no certificates will be provided.
Date of submission was informed to the team leader on WhatsApp group or email. Submission will be done through goggle form. Argument or disobedience with any jury member, coordinators will lead to disqualification. The officials reserve the right to revise the schedule of the competition and modify its rule at any time. For any clarification, team leader can contact our support team. Merit e-certificate will be given to the winners and every participate will get participation certificate. Price money was transferred to winners after the announcement of results.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Teams willing to participate for the competition need to fill the google form attached with this. Registration will end on 9th January 2022.
The amount paid Participants can participate as solo or Teams of minimum of and maximum 4 members. Each team should have leader who will be contacted by us. Teams need to submit all their CAD models within given deadline. Competition will be conducted in two rounds.

For Solo participants, registration fee will be Rs.99/-
In case of two members, registration fee will be Rs.149/-
In case of three members, registration fee will be Rs.199/-
In case of four members, registration fee will be Rs.249/-

About the Program
The Department of Aerospace Engineering has organized an awareness session on “Healthy Youth – Healthy Planet” in view of World Health Day celebration on 07th April 2022. This program was organized to inculcate the importance of Health education to improve students’ knowledge about physical, mental, emotional and social health. It motivates youth to improve and maintain their health, prevent diseases, and avoid unhealthy behaviors.
The Program was started at 12:00 PM with the welcome address by Ms. Sangeetha, Student representative, Third Year Aerospace Engineering and introduced the resource person Dr. R. Prema. Dr.R. Mukesh, Head of the Department, Aerospace Engineering greeted the Chief Guest with the bouquet and memento. The resource person handled a very informative and eye-opening session on how to lead a healthy life style in adolescence phase of the life. She has highlighted the following points.
