Report on Industrial Visit to BAIL – 2023

Name of the Event: Industrial Visit
Place of Visit: Bangalore Aircraft Industries Ltd., KIAB, Marenahalli.
Date & Time: 14.06.2023 & 9.00 am to 5.30 pm
No. of Participants: 33 Students + 2 Faculty members.
Industrial Visit Report:
The industrial visit is organized to visit Bangalore Aircraft Industries Ltd, Aerospace park KIADB, B.Marenahalli, Kavadedasarahalli, Karnataka 562129 on 14 th June 2023. Total of 33 students and 2 staff members have participated from Aerospace Department, ACSCE.

The industrial visit has been started at 9.15 am from college campus in college bus andreached BAIL at 11.00 am. The students were welcomed by Director Mr. K.E. Girish and thefirst session was handled by Dr. Das, Former Scientist, NAL. He shared his experience and imparted awareness among the students on how to get the opportunities in Aerospace sectors.
The visit schedule is given below,

Session I (11.00 am to 12.00 pm): Motivation session and Opportunities for Engineering graduates in aerospace industries. (Resource Person: Dr. Das, Former Scientist NAL)

Session II (12.00 pm to 12.45 pm): Introduction to Aero-Structural Analysis- Software Packages, Real-time projects (Resource Person: Mr. K.E. Girish, Director, BAIL)

Lunch: 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm

Session III (1.45 pm to 3.00 pm): Visit to various premises (Aircraft structural test stand, Spar test rig, Composite Bay, Sheet metal workshop etc.) (Resource Person: Mr. Sunil, Chief Engineer, BAIL)
Enroute to College: 3.00 pm.

The students left the premises at 3:00 PM after gaining knowledge on aerospace structures, opportunities for structural analyst, Software packages, Testing of materials, Composite materials fabrication and Airframe manufacturing.

About the Seminar:
The Department of Aerospace Engineering organized the technical seminar titled “Recent Environmental challenges for Engineers in India – World Environment Day Celebration” in view of World Environment Day 2023 celebration to create awareness among the engineering graduates on the challenges and importance of creating sustainable environment.
The program was started at 3 PM with the welcome speech by Ms. Pratheeksha, III-year Aerospace Engineering. Then Ms. Ranjitha, III-year Aerospace Engineering introduced the resource person to the audience followed by Dr. Paramaguru V, Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering greeted the resource person with memento and gift. The resource person handled a very useful session on the need and challenges in creating future environment for engineer. The resource person highlighted the following points.

What is Sustainable Environment?
Global Environmental Management Systems
Land, Air and Water Pollution and their Measurement
Responsibility of Engineers for environment pollution control
Green initiatives for eco-friendly environment.

At the end of the session, students interacted with the resource person to clarify their doubts in the topic. Students expressed their gratitude that the program was highly informative and useful. Finally, the seminar ended with the vote of thanks.

The program was started at 10.45 am with the welcome speech by Head of the Department Dr. R. Mukesh and he also introduced the chief guest. The resource person handled a very interesting session on the applications of AI & ML in Aerospace Industry. The resource person outlined the following points.

About the Seminar
The technical seminar titled “Structural Design – An Industrial Perspective” was organized to enhance the knowledge of Aerospace Engineering students in Design, Structural analysis of airframe and aerospace components using Finite Element Analysis. The program was started at 11 am with the welcome speech by student representative Ms. Poorvi of 3rd year Aerospace Engineering. Dr. R. Mukesh, HoD of Aerospace Department delivered the special address. Then, Ms. Sinchana, III-year student introduced the resource person and the Dr. P. Theerthamalai, Dean, ACSCE greeted the resource person with the Bouquet and Memento. The resource person handled a very interesting session on Industrial Structural Design and Analysis.
The resource person outlined the following points.

Overview of Aircraft Structural Design and Development
Fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis
Typical Problems in Aircraft and Aerospace Structures
Software packages for structural design
Career opportunities in aircraft structural design and development

CSI Inauguration, Technical Symposium and Project Expo 2023

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, ACS College of Engineering has conducted CSI Inauguration. The main Objective is to make an occasion unforgettable with exclusive events for students for their knowledge to gain by them with a strong practical approach and more innovation. Department of Computer Science and Engineering also conducted State Level Technical Symposium called ‘NIRVANA 2k23’ on May 5th 2023 this is to provide students a placed where their can showcase their skills and explore more of their talents and ideas. NIRVANA 2k23 has Technical and Non Technical Events where Technical Event had Web Hub, Technical Paper Presentation and Zero Error Coding and Non- Technical Event has Complete the Lyrics, Mini cricket and Chess. Department of Computer Science and Engineering has also organized Intra Level Project Expo 2k23 in ACS College of Engineering for Computer Science students to showcase their ideas, skills and ability to overcome the real world problems.
