About the Event
The Hands on training session on “HIFUN Software” was organized to make the Second and Third year Aerospace students understand the tools and to practice the HIFUN Software. The program was started at 9.30 am. Ms. Nisarga of Third Year Aerospace Engineering welcomed the gatherings and the Chief Guest. Dr. P. Theerthamalai, Dean delivered the presidential address and greeted the resource person with the Bouquet. Ms. Aishwarya of Third Year Aerospace Engineering introduced the chief guest. The resource person handled a very useful session on HIFUN Software.
The resource person outlined the following points.
• Various fluid flow problems of aerospace engineering.
• CFD Software packages available.
• Features of HIFUN software.
• Installation and User Interface requirements of HIFUN software.
• Processing and Post Processing steps in problem solving.
• Case Study problems for Hands on training.
At the end of the session, students interacted with the resource person to clarify their doubts and the resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills. Students expressed their gratitude that the program was highly informative and interesting.

Industrial Visit Report:
The Vainu Bappu Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. It is located at Kavalur in the Javadi Hills, near Vaniyambadi in Tirupathur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is 200 km south-west of Chennai and 175 km south-east of Bangalore.
The industrial visit started at 06.00 am from college campus in college bus and reached the destination at 11 am.
The students visited and experienced the following features at the Vainu Bappu Observatory:
The observatory is home to the Vainu Bappu Telescope, the largest telescope in Asia until a 3.6-meter telescope was set up at Devasthal, Nainital, by ARIES. It has a diameter of 2.3 meters and was first used in 1986. Along with the Vainu Bappu telescope, the observatory has two other telescopes: A 1-meter Zeiss manufactured and another 75-centimeter Cassegrain reflector currently being refurbished. The observatory also has a Fabry–Pérot interferometer.
Primary mirror diameter: 234 cm
Prime focus: f/3.25 with a scale of 27″.1/mm
Cassegrain focus: f/13 with a scale of 6″.8/mm
Guiding: remote, manual guiding
The students reached the college campus at 8 pm. Students expressed their gratitude and felt the visit was very informative and helpful.

The industrial visit is organized to visit Bangalore Aircraft Industries Ltd, Aerospace park KIADB, B.Marenahalli, Kavadedasarahalli, Karnataka 562129 on 21st June 2024. Total of 38 students and 3 staff members have participated from Aerospace Department, ACSCE.
The industrial visit has been started at 9.15 am from college campus in college bus and reached BAIL at 11.00 am. The students were welcomed by Director Mr. K.E. Girish and the first session was handled by Dr.Das, Former Scientist, NAL. He has shared his experience and imparted awareness among the students on how to get the opportunities in Aerospace sectors.
The visit schedule is given below,
Session I (11.00 am to 12.45 pm) : Motivation session and Opportunities for Engineering graduates in aerospace industries. (Resource Person : Dr.Das, Former Scientist NAL)
Session III (12.45 pm to 2.00 pm): Visit to various premises (Aircraft structural test stand, Spar test rig, Composite Bay, Sheet metal workshop etc..) (Resource Person : Mr.Sunil, Chief Engineer, BAIL)
Lunch : 2.00 pm to 2.30 pm
Enroute to college : 2.30 pm.
The students left the premises at 2:30 PM after gaining knowledge on aerospace structures, opportunities for structural analyst, Software packages, Testing of materials, Composite materials fabrication and Airframe manufacturing.

Report :
The industrial visit is organized to visit HAL Museum, Bangalore. Total of 30 students from the Second year Aerospace Engineering and 3 staff members have participated from Aerospace Department, ACSCE. The industrial visit has been started at 9.15 am from college campus in college bus and reached the destination at 11 am. The students visited and experienced the following features of HAL Museum:

1. There are two major halls, one displaying the photographs that chart the growth of aviation in each decade from 1940 till date and a Hall of Fame that takes the visitors on an exciting journey through the Heritage of Aerospace & Aviation Industry in India.
2. The second Hall highlights the various functions of an Aero Engine by displaying motorized cross sections of various models of Aero Engines. Real Engines such as Garret (for Dornier Aircraft), Adour (for Jaguar Aircraft) and Orpheus (for Kiran Aircraft) can be seen here along with Ejection Seat with Parachute; and Pushpak & Basant Aircraft.
3. Outdoor display of Aircraft such as MARUT, MIG-21, HT-2, KIRAN, CANBERRA, AJEET, LAKSHYA (Pilotless Target Aircraft) & many more.
4. A Unique exhibit is the ATC Radar parched with L Band surveillance Radar having a range of 200 nautical miles which rotates at speed of 3-4 RPM, with the frequency of 1250-1350 MHZ and Meteorological Radar. In addition, PSLV model & PSLV Heat shield are displayed to give a glimpse of forays made by the country in space technology.
