About the Programme:

We have conducted an Invited Talk under the banner of Lecture Series 2015-16 on topic entitled “Corrosion and Its Control” for first year BE students on 09th March 2016 at 2.00 PM. Dr. Pruthviraj R.D., Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, RajaRajeshwari College of Engineering, Bangalore accepted our invitation and given an wonderful lecture on the above mentioned topic. Dr. Pradeepa S.M., Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry stood as the event Co-ordinator and successfully well organized this function. All the first year staffs and students were participated enthusiastically.

The programme begins with welcome address by Dr. Pradeepa S.M, and he welcomes all the dignitaries to the stage. Dr. Bhavyashree has given a brief introduction about the chief guest.

During the talk Dr. Pruthviraj, has discussed about the corrosion of metals/alloys by environmental factors and control measures of corrosion by making use of inhibitors like many organic compounds. Finally, he explained about the importance of corrosion prevention and advanced research progress in the concerned field.

After the completion of the interaction with the students M.S. Shivakumar gave the vote of thanks to the management, Chief Guest, Students, and all the Teaching and Non-teaching staffs who have supported the function directly or indirectly. At last the function ended with the National Anthem.

About the Programme:

Inaugural function of the ELECTROVISION ASSOCIATION was organized by the students & staff of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the 2nd floor seminar hall of the college premises. The association was inaugurated by Dr. M.S Murali, Principal ACSCE. The function started with an invocation song sung by 6th semester students followed by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. The dignitaries were present in the dais are Dr. M.S Murali, Principal, Prof. Elangovan, Vice Principal (Admin), Dr. S.S Patil, Prof. H.L Dinakar & Mr. Jayanth N (Vice president of association). Prof. H.L Dinakar welcomed the gathering and told about the various features of the association activities. Dr. M.S Murali addressed the gathering & he reminded duties and responsibilities of the students with respect to their studies and commitment to college. He also stressed that the students should improve their behavior with regard to the discipline, attendance etc. Prof. Elangovan has highlighted the importance of electrical engineers for the society, for the industry and for the nation as a whole. Dr. S.S Patil thanked all the student and staff for making this function success. Mr. Naveen proposed the vote of thanks. The anchoring for the function was done by Ms. Deepthi Pejawar & Ms. Priyanka of 6th semester.

Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering signed MoU with Advanced Electronic Systems (ALS), Bangalore

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of ACS college of Engineering has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Advanced Electronic Systems (ALS), Bangalore on his MoU reaffirms the commitment of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department and Electronic Systems (ALS) on their partnership to the objective of training the students and collaborative research with an industry. Electronic Systems (ALS) has supported Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of ACSCE for conducting Training Program.

Details of the program

The Women’s day celebration and inauguration of “SRISHTI”, Women Empowerment cell was conducted on 8th March 2016 from 10am to 2pm in the Seminar hall 1 at ACSCE. Prior arrangements for conducting the aforesaid program were made.

The program began at 10am and was marked by lighting of lamp and the Women Empowerment cell was inaugurated by Chief guest Mrs.Indira Jaiprakash, former Professor and Chair person ,Department of psychology and psychological Counseling, Bangalore University.

Our Beloved Principal Dr.M.S.Murali addressed the women gathering of staff and students and gave us a brief glance about great achievements of women in the past and present.

Our Chief Guest then delivered mesmerizing talk on Challenges and Opportunities faced by women. She also gave us the potential sources of strength and the courage to face challenges in life. After the inauguration cake cutting was done as a part of Women’s day celebration and distributed. A skit was performed by our students highlighting the Present Scenario and the challenges faced by women. The program was followed by fun and games for faculties organized by students. Overall it was a well planned and executed program which was mainly intended for women.

OPEN HARDWARE PROTOTYPING on 3rd and 4th March 2016

A two-day workshop on “Open Hardware Prototyping” was conducted in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, ACS College of Engineering by Mr. Prathik,Logic Hive solutions Pvt Ltd, Mysuru on 3rd and 4th March 2016.

The workshop was based on Arduino board a part of upcoming technologies and knowledge which is a step towards the growth of an Engineer. It was guided by a young team and that showed that everything is attainable. Hardware was the centre of workshop but it was surrounded by numerous soft skills which made the workshop take us one step ahead.

Working in a team made learners to work together to attain a common goal. We had students of Mechanical and Bio-Medical Engineering participating in it which took the total strength of workshop to 90. Appreciation to Prof Prasanna Kumar and team, Department of ECE for conducting the workshop in a large scale.
