NSS Eye Donation Awareness Program

About the Programme:

The NSS Unit of ACSCE has organized an Eye Donation Awareness program in association with RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH), Bengaluru, on 24/08/2016 in ACSCE Auditorium. Mr. M.S. Shivakumar, NSS Programme Officer & Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry stood as the Event Co-Ordinator and successfully well organized this function. The above event was well supported by the faculty members Dr. Veena B.H, Dr. Selvanandan, Dr. Pradeepa S.M, Mr. Raghavendra K, Dr. Pradeep Kumar K.T, Mr. Venkatesh T and Mrs. Anandhi. The NSS Volunteers and the Students of ACSCE were participated enthusiastically.

The programme begins with welcome address by Dr. Bhavyashree and she welcomes Dr. Koushal, HOD, Dept. of Opthalmology, Dr. Shivakumar and their team to the program. Dr. Shivakumar has given an eye Donation Awareness Presentation.During his presentation he explains about

Eye Donation and How is this helpful?
Why should our eyes be donated?
Who all can donate their eyes?
What is the procedure?
Whom should we contact to donate eyes?
Steps to take care for donation of the eyes, What is an eye bank?, and

Finally, he suggested us to TAKE CARE OF OUR EYES Because THEY ARE GOD’S GIFT TO BE PASSED ON.

Finally, more than 150 students from various branches of ACSCE had given the pledge to donate their eyes and in order to save two blinded persons. We acknowledge the continuous support of our Management (RRGI) for conducting the program

Congratulations – Best Project Award from Karnataka State for the Year 2016

Final Year Mechanical Engineering Students of Mr. Bharath B,(USN:1AH13ME404) Mr Chethankumar G,(USN:1AH13ME406) Mr Shivanna.G (USN:1AH13ME417)and Syed Sajjad Hussain (USN:1AH13ME418) project works titled ‘Bio-Design and Fabrication of Bio-Composite Helmet’ under the guidance of Prof. Sunilraja B.A. and prof. Chandrashekhar B got the Best Project for the Year 2016 during 39th Series Seminar and Exhibition of Student project Programme held on 19th and 20th August 2016 at V.P. DR.P.G.Halakattu College of Engineering and Technology, Vijapura. supported by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) Bengaluru.

Industrial Visit – RWF

A batch of 7th Semester Mechanical Engineering Students visited Railway Wheel Factory Yelahanka on 20th August 2016 to know the state art technologies used in the factory. Students were visited departments in the factory and understand the industrial atmosphere.Prof. Sunilraja BA and Prof. Chandrakala has co-ordinated the industrial trip. The outcome of this visit, the students got an exposure on modern machinery and equipment used in rail wheel factory and attitude to learn and know the industries. We thank the management of ACSCE for support and Rail Wheel Factory Authority for permission to visit.

There are three general classes of information that can be discovered by web mining:

Web activity, from server logs and Web browser activity tracking.
Web graph, from links between pages, people and other data.
Web content, for the data found on Web pages and inside of documents.

70th Independence Day Flag Hoisting

The Independence Day celebration was conducted on 15/08/2016. The program commenced at 8:00 am, Sri. C. N. Seetharam, Retired IAS, Chief Executive Officer, RRGI has hoisted the flag.

He spoke at length about the importance of conducting the Independence Day wherein one should memorize the effect of the leader who fought hard to get independence.

The Principal as well as other dignitaries addressed the gathering. The program came to an end with National Anthem by all the audience.

OUTCOME OF THE PROGRAM:

The 3rd & 5th semester students of all branches of ACS College of Engineering are invited for this program. Dr. R Krishna gave the presentation on different career opportunities and avenues for engineers at present modern, fast developing world. He told about several inspirational talks and stories of different companies, CEOs. Also the readiness and preparations required by the students. Students had a good interaction with the presenter. The students were very enthusiastic and the session was motivational and giving information for their further career opportunities.

OUTCOME OF THE PROGRAM:

The last four batches of the ACSCE Alumni i.e. 2013, 2014, 2015 &2016 passed out students had assembled to share their old memories at ACSCE & their professional experience. The chief guests and the dignitaries shared their perspective of being an alumnus, the importance of the alumni to the institution & in turn to the Society.

The office bearers had a meeting with members to seek suggestions and chalk out the activities for the coming year. Alumni discussed about the job prospects of ACSCE students and in what way they can help with the placements. They also proposed to fund the fee payment of one economically weaker student every year. Finally, the office bearers for the next term (2016-2018) were suggested.
