About the Programme:
The talk commenced with brief introduction about the speaker Mr. Shyam Solaraju. The Speaker started the session about asking the basic questions about Sensor’s and its applications. Next the speaker took over the session and started discussing about Sensors, different types of sensors, and its applications to IoT.
A sensor is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the physical environment. The output is generally a signal that is converted to human-readable display at the sensor location or transmitted electronically over a network for reading or further processing.
Different Types of Sensors
Temperature Sensor.
Proximity Sensor.
IR Sensor (Infrared Sensor)
Pressure Sensor.
Light Sensor.
Ultrasonic Sensor.
Smoke, Gas and Alcohol Sensor.
Industries and organizations have been using various kinds of sensors for a long time, but the invention of the Internet of Things has taken the evolutions of sensors to a completely different level.
He took Tesla vehicles as an example. All the sensors on a car record their perception of the surroundings, uploading the information into a massive database. The data is then processed, and all the important new pieces of information are sent to all other vehicles. This is an ongoing process, through which a whole fleet of Tesla vehicles is becoming smarter every day.
By combining a set of sensors and a communication network, devices share information with one another and are improving their effectiveness and functionality.
Finally, the session concluded by thanking the Speaker for his guidance.

About the Programme:
The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was conducted at ACS College of Engineering; Bengaluru in seminar hall for 3 days from 25th March to 27th March 2019, with the support of EDII, DST, Government of India, The event creates awareness among students about various facets of entrepreneurship while highlighting the merits of pursuing such a career option.

The programme started on 25th March 2019 at 9.30 a.m. with the inaugural address by our beloved principal Dr. M.S. Murali in the presence of chief guests Dr. Naganagouda and Department Head of the Department Dr. H.S. Siddesha, The program Cordinator Mr. Sunilraj B.A, address emphasized the need for entrepreneurship and highlighted how the entrepreneurial eco-system has changed in recent times.
Dr. Naganagouda, who was the chief guest and resource person, started the second session of the day on “Historical background-Indian values vis-a-vis Entrepreneur ship and the present scenario”. The afternoon session on the first day was taken by Mr. K. Devraj, Deputy Director, MSME, Government of India on “How to start a SSI unit” and “Support and financial assistance from Govt. agencies, Banks, Financial Institutions, and SFCs”

The second day of the camp i.e. on 26th March 2019 started with a session on “Creativity in Entrepreneurship” by Mr. SunilKumar, Co Founder and Managing Director Transopar Private Limited. He explained the students the process of creating value proposition, evolving a business model and delivering the value to the customers by using innovative ideas. The last session of the day was on “Mechanism of product selection and technology-assistance from R&D labs” by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Head of the Department, Industrial Engineering Department, JSSATE. About the Programme:
The Department of Mechanical Engineeirng has conducted Project Exhibition & Poster Presentation of Final Year Projects and Farewell for the outgoing students on 18th May 2019. About 12 batches are displayed their projects with poster presentation. Projects are based on Thermal, Design and fabrication with protoype models. Dr. M S Murali, Principal, ACSCE visited with senior professors to the exhibition and appriciated the students project work and suggested to the students and faculty to apply patent for the KAMLESH B PUROHIT Batch project work “AUTOMATED HYDRAULIC JACK USING INTERNAL BATTERY OF THE VEHICLE” under the guidence of Prof. KUMAR B.M.
The farewell party celebrtion conducted by the department of Mechanical Engineering, for 2015 batch students for final year students on 18th May 2019. The program was coordinated by the Dr. Siddesha H.S. department of Mechanical Engineering. The session was addressed by the Dr. M. S. Murali, Prinicpal.

About the Industrial Visit:
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Heritage Centre & Aerospace Museum, Bangalore, the first of its kind in India established in 2001, is situated at the intersection of HAL Old Airport Road & Basavanagar Road. It is about 17 Kms from the Bengaluru City Railway Station. The Heritage Centre & Aerospace Museum is sprawled over 4 acres of lush green land.
There are two major halls, one displaying the photographs that chart the growth of aviation in each decade from 1940 till date and a Hall of Fame that takes the visitors on an exciting journey through the Heritage of Aerospace & Aviation Industry in India. The second Hall highlights the various functions of an Aero Engine by displaying motorized cross sections of various models of Aero Engines. Real Engines such as Garret (for Dornier Aircraft), Adour (for Jaguar Aircraft) and Orpheus (for Kiran Aircraft) can be seen here along with Ejection Seat with Parachute; and Pushpak & Basant Aircraft.
Outdoor display of Aircraft such as MARUT, MIG-21, HT-2, KIRAN, CANBERRA, AJEET, LAKSHYA (Pilotless Target Aircraft) & many more, has excited our students. For the academically inclined, a Library on Aerospace provides opportunity to trace the exciting development of the industry since the 1940s. While the Museums’ prized possessions include various types of Aircraft models on static display, the availability of Audio-Video facility and display of translides enhances the experience immeasurably.
Industrial Visit to HAL Museum
About the Programme:
The students of IV SEM were taken to HAL Museum for Industrial visit on 27.03.2019 that is on Wednesday as a part of Industry interaction to students along with two faculty members. The students assembled in the college at 8:30 am in their class. As the bus arrived at 8:45 am the students boarded the bus and started from college and reached HAL Museum at 10:30am. Tickets collected for all students by paying amount of Rs 50 per head. Next all the students entered the Museum and started to visit all places inside the Museum.

A Unique exhibit is the ATC Radar parched with L Band surveillance Radar having a range of 200 nautical miles which rotates at speed of 3-4 RPM, with the frequency of 1250-1350 MHZ and Meteorological Radar. In addition, PSLV model & PSLV Heat shield are displayed to give a glimpse of forays made by the country in space technology. For the academically inclined, a Library on Aerospace provides opportunity to trace the exciting development of the industry since the 1940s. While the Museums’ prized possessions include various types of Aircraft models on static display, the availability of Audio-Video facility and display of Tran slides enhances the experience immeasurably. Taking ones experience a notch above are the true-motion simulators that puts oneself in the pilot’s seat, offering a thrilling ride. It is where visitors of all ages can explore and imagine what it would be like to soar through the skies and have realistic feel of flying fighter jets & commercial aircraft.
The Museum has an excellently landscaped exterior with an exclusive Rose Garden, Orchidarium and Herbal Garden with several exotic varieties. A sustainability park displays working models of solar power systems, biogas plant and hybrid windmills to educate visitors and students on alternate energy sources which help conserve natural resources and preserve the environment. The Museum is open to public from 9 AM to 5 PM on all days throughout the year.

The students of VI semester were taken to Solar Power Plant in Shivanasamudra, Mandya District for Industrial visit on 26.03.2019 that is on Tuesday as a part of Industry interaction to students along with two faculty members. The students assembled in the college at 8:30 am in their class. As the bus arrived at 9:00 am the students boarded the bus and started from college and reached Solar Power Plant in Mandya District at 12:30pm.
