The Department of Biomedical Engineering at ACS College of Engineering organized an online expert seminar on “Ethics & Regulatory Challenges in AI-Driven Healthcare” on 28th March 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the 3rd Floor Seminar Hall.
The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Roshan Joy Martis, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Bangalore. He delivered an insightful session on the ethical issues, regulatory frameworks, and challenges involved in implementing artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The event was coordinated by Dr. P. Bhuvaneswari, Professor and Head, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Mrs. Nagashree Pavan, Assistant Professor, BME. The program was conducted under the guidance and support of Dr. A. K. Mariappan, Rector, RRGI, Dr. Meenakshi Sundaram, Registrar, RRGI, and Dr. B. S. Shylaja, Principal, ACS College of Engineering.
The seminar aimed to create awareness among students and faculty about the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies in the healthcare domain. The session was informative and beneficial, providing participants with a deeper understanding of the balance between technological advancement and ethical responsibility.
