Industry Visit to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre(VSSC), Thumba, Trivandrum, Kerala

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with a unique opportunity to witness a live rocket launch and gain hands-on exposure to the advanced space research and development activities carried out at VSSC. This experience served as a bridge between classroom learning and real-world applications in the field of space technology.
During the visit, experts from VSSC delivered insightful sessions explaining the evolution of launch vehicle technology in India, covering key milestones such as:
SLV (Satellite Launch Vehicle)
ASLV (Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicle)
PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle)
GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle)
Their explanations provided students with a deeper understanding of the design, development, and operational aspects of India’s launch vehicles.
A total of 35 students from the 6th Semester along with 2 faculty members participated in the visit. The interaction with scientists and the opportunity to observe real-time launch operations made the visit highly informative and inspiring.
Overall, the visit to VSSC proved to be a remarkable educational experience, enriching the students’ knowledge and motivating them to pursue careers in aerospace and space research.
