Dr. ACS College of Engineering, through the Department of CSE-IoT & AIML, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, is organizing a 5-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI-ML & Emerging Technologies” from 10th to 14th August 2026.
The Faculty Development Program aims to empower faculty members, research scholars, postgraduate students, and industry professionals with the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Explainable AI, AI Ethics, and other emerging technologies through expert lectures, hands-on sessions, industry case studies, coding exercises, and research discussions.

  • AI vs. ML vs. Deep Learning
  • Types of AI – ANI, AGI and ASI
  • AI domains including NLP, Computer Vision and Robotics
  • Applications of AI
  • AI Ethics
  • Live Demo: AI Chat Assistant using React, Express and Gemini/OpenAI API, demonstrating how prompts are sent to an LLM and how responses are rendered in a React application.
Session 2 – Machine Learning Fundamentals
The session covered:
  • Supervised, Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning
  • Machine Learning workflow
  • Model training
  • Evaluation metrics
  • Live Demo: Student Performance Prediction System using React, Express, MongoDB and TensorFlow.js/Hugging Face Inference API, including pass/fail prediction based on attendance and marks and storage of prediction history.
Session 3 – Hands-on Lab: AI-Powered MERN Applications
Participants gained practical experience through:
  • Project 1: AI Chat Assistant using Gemini/OpenAI
  • Project 2: Student Prediction Dashboard using TensorFlow.js/Hugging Face
  • Project 3: AI Image Classification using TensorFlow.js MobileNet/Hugging Face Vision Model
  • Integration of AI APIs with React, Express, MongoDB and Axios
The Day 2 session successfully combined AI/ML concepts, live demonstrations, and hands-on implementation, enabling participants to gain practical exposure to developing AI-powered applications

  • Transfer Learning
  • Live Demo: AI Image Classification using React, Express and TensorFlow.js MobileNet, where participants uploaded images and received predicted labels with confidence scores.
Session 2 – Computer Vision & Deep Learning Applications
The session covered:
  • Image Classification
  • Object Detection
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
  • Face Recognition
  • Image Segmentation
  • Transfer Learning
  • Live Demo: Smart Image Analyzer using the Hugging Face Vision API for image captioning and object detection, generating AI-based captions, detected objects and confidence scores.
Session 3 – Hands-on Lab: AI-Powered Vision Applications
Participants gained practical experience through:
  • Project 1: Image Classification using TensorFlow.js MobileNet
  • Project 2: AI Image Caption Generator using the Hugging Face BLIP Model
  • Project 3: Face Detection using TensorFlow.js BlazeFace or MediaPipe Face Detection
  • Integration of React, Express, MongoDB and AI models to store prediction history and display results
The Day 3 session provided participants with in-depth knowledge of deep learning, neural networks and computer vision, along with practical hands-on experience in developing AI-powered vision applications.

Day 4 & 5

Dr. ACS College of Engineering (Dr. ACSCE), in association with the IEEE Student Branch, successfully conducted a 5-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI–ML & Emerging Technologies” from 10th to 14th August 2026.
Organized by the Department of CSE – IoT & AI/ML, the FDP provided faculty members with valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and emerging technologies, enhancing their knowledge and equipping them with future-ready skills.
The program featured sessions by industry experts, including Ms. Shwetha N – Team Leader, Opteamix India Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Tejeshwara B M – Data Scientist, Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India; and Mr. Vishwanath Modi – Senior Corporate Trainer & AI/Emerging Technologies Trainer, Bitstreamlo Technologies.
The five-day program offered an enriching platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, technology awareness, and industry-academia learning, empowering faculty members to integrate emerging technologies into teaching and academic practices.
