About the Program
Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving.
The last edition of the hackathon saw over 5 million+ students from various engineering colleges compete for the top prize at 35+ locations.
In SIH, the students would also have the opportunity to work on challenges faced within the private sector organizations and create world class solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation.
SIH software edition – Nodal center will organize the 36Hours hackathon Event for 2 days.
ACS College of engineering, Bangalore organizes 2 days SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2022 (SOFTWARE EDITION) on 25TH AND 26TH AUGUST 2022 for 8 different problem statements. 226 Students teams and mentors are coming from 9 different states.
The event has been inaugurated by Padmashree Dr.Mailswamy Annadurai, Former Director, ISRO on 25.08.2022 at 8 am. And next 36 hours Hackathon had been completed on 26.08.2022 at 5 pm. At 8 pm, on 25.08.2022 the Honorable Prime Minister has addressed the participants through video conference. During this event, the three representatives from DRDO have also interacted with the students. On completion of the events, the Panel members have discussed and finalized the winners. On 26.08.2022 at 8 pm, the valedictory session started and the Chief Guest Mr.Guna Sekhar P, Dy. General Manager, ISTRAC/ISRO felicitated the function and distributed the prizes to the winners. The session ends with national anthem.

Outcome of the Event
Milana-2022, our alumni meet took place on 15th August,2022. Alumni began to come to ACS college of engineering around 8.00am to participate in the Flag hoisting on the event of 75th Independence Day.
After this, all the alumni were welcomed by the registration teams with welcome roses. This year, around 140 alumni were present from various passing out years. The event was hosted by Ms. Hemal and Ms.Jayavardhani, 1st year students.
To begin with, the dignitaries were welcomed onto the dais. A beautiful invocation song was sung by Ms. Hemal. There was a short introduction on the purpose of the alumni meet which was stated by Mr. Akash, President of Alumni association of ACSCE. Lamps were lit by our Chief Guest, Mr. Sharath H P, accompanied by all the dignitaries on the dais, to seek the blessings of the almighty.
Our principal addressed the gathering on a cheerful note mentioning that it is great to see all the alumni after a long year.The chief guest and guest of honours were introduced by another1st year student.The chief guest and guest of honours were felicitated by Principal and Alumni association members.
The guest of honours was asked to speak initially. They shared their experiences and helped all the other alumni to understand certain things. Then, the chief guest was invited to speak a few words. It was an illuminating and an enlightening speech. He mentioned some stories with wonderful morals too. This was followed by some of our alumni sharing their experiences and memories of the college life.
Ms. Chaitanyashree thanked the Management in her vote of thanks. She thanked ED and SO sir for providing opportunity for conducting the meet in ACSCE. She thanked Principal and Staff of ACSCE for all the support in conducting the event. She also thanked Chief Guest and guest of honours for accepting the invitation and spending their quality time with alumni and sharing their views with them. In the end, she also thanked the alumni for attending Milana-2022.
Lunch was arranged for all alumni on the 4th floor.

The Power point presentation of MATHXPLORE activities was conducted on 16th july 2022 with the topic “Mathematics in Modern Technology”. Around 18 groups registered for the event. All the participants gave a nice power point presentation.
The topics of engineering mathematics like matrices, Fourier series, Fourier transforms, Laplace transform, differential equations concepts were used in explaining the technology of GPS, barcode, pixel, satellite etc. the event was helpful in enhancing their self learning and communication skills.

Department of mathematics under MATHXPLORE club regularly conducts technical talk.
Dr Suma P S, Prof. and Head of the mathematics department, Cambridge Institute of technology delivered the talk on “ Role of Mathematics in Engineering applications”. It was held on the 18th july 2022
The technical talk was both motivational and informative.
she explained that mathematics is not complicated but mathematics simplifies the complicated subject. The various applications of the differential equation such as heat transfer, biomedical applications,environmenatl applications such as CORONA were briefesd.
The talk was helpful in motivating the students to develop an interest in mathematics and thereby knowing the role of mathematics in technology.
MATHXPLORE club had conducted two events Mathcollage and PPT. The guest Dr.Suma gave the winners the certificates and the cash prize. To encourage the fast learners, the toppers of mathematics in I and III semester were also awarded the appreciation certificates.

Students Project Exhibition

About the Program
The Innovative Students Project Exhibition had been conducted to help the students to develop their creativity and their skill sets. Third year students of Aerospace Engineering had displayed their mini-project carried out as part of their curriculum. It also boosts their self-esteem, motivates them to become better and makes them mentally strong. Total of 45 students from 3rd Year Aerospace Engineering students were excited to participate in the event. Eleven teams were displayed and demonstrated their mini -projects to the visitors. The faculty motivated the projects are as follows,

Seminar on Study Overseas – Options for Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering

About the Seminar
The Department of Aerospace Engineering has organized the seminar titled “Study Overseas – Options for Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering” to impart awareness on Higher studies opportunities in Overseas Countries for Aerospace Graduates.
The program was started at 11.00 am with the welcome speech by student representative Ms. Sangeetha, III year. Mr. Supratej, III-year student introduced the resource person and Prof. Soma, ACSCE greeted the resource person with the Bouquet and Memento. The resource person handled a very interesting session about the requirements and processes for higher studies abroad. The resource person outlined the following points.
- • Importance of Domain Knowledge for Higher studies
- • Opportunities for Aerospace Engineering Students
- • Step by Step procedure for admission in Foreign Universities
- • Mandatory requirements for Overseas education
- • List of courses available for Aerospace Students in abroad.
At the end of the session, students interacted with the resource person to clarify their doubts. Students expressed their gratitude that the program was highly informative and interesting. Finally, the seminar ended with the vote of thanks by third year student Ms. Sangeetha.

Department of Aeronautical Engineering organized an Industrial visit to 4th sem students. They have visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Heritage Centre, Old HAL Airport Road, Marathahalli, Bangalore on 21st Jul 2022.
