About the Visit:
Students visited UR Rao Satellite Centre (ISRO) and got an exposure to see the present Indian Space Research Organization achievements. The visit started at 1.30 PM.

- Launch Vehicle Models
- Various Subsystems of Rockets and Spacecraft
- Museum
- Video on Chandrayaan Launch
- History of Indian Space Programme
In the visit, students had a visual exposure about different kinds of satellites and various parts. During the visit the UR Rao Satellite Centre Faculty has given the demonstration about Satellite subsystems, Antennas, Launch Vehicles, On board systems, Propellant Tanks and Satellite Assembly in clean room. The students were expressed that this program was highly useful to them to understand the journey of Indian Space Programme and as well as to gain the knowledge on Satellite sub-systems. The visit finished by 4.00pm after taking the opinion and feedback from students.

About the Visit:
The Seminar titled “Development of Gas Turbines and UAVs” was organized to enrich the knowledge of Aerospace students to get exposure on design, development, integration and validation of Gas Turbine Engines for fighter aircrafts like LCA and UCV.
The program was started at 1.40 PM with the welcome speech by HOD/AS and followed by introduction of the resource person Dr. K. Ramachandra by Dr. S. Srinath, Asso. Prof. ASE. The resource person handled an interactive session about the fundamentals of Gas Turbine Engines and UAVs. The contents of this talk were related to materials, friction welding of GTEs and UAVs. The resource person shared the information about the importance of the following aspects.
- Gas Turbine Engines components.
- Different Materials used in GTEs.
- Thrust to weight ratio.
- UAV control systems.
- Welding types.
- UAV applications.
In between interaction with students and questionnaire to test the ability of students and the resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills through different case studies as it’s still beginning vast domain. The students were expressed that this program was highly useful to them to develop their career in aerospace field. Finally, the seminar was ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Madhu Kiran Reddy Asst. Outcome of the Program :The Technical Talk started with welcoming of Mr. Vaibhav Raj purohit, Team Leader, Skandysys Technologies by Dr.M. Mathivanan by presenting a bouquet. The Speaker himself introduced about his Qualification, Current working area and about his company. He also explained about the present scenario in industries and their expectations etc. Next, he started with the design of process of a producing a packed VLSI chip physically and various steps which is popularity known as VLSI design cycle. This design cycle is normally represented as a step as shown in below
- System specification
- Functional design
- Logic design
- Circuit design
- Physical design
- Fabrication
- Packaging
System specification: The specification of the system to be designed exactly specified in this step. It considers performance, functionality and the physical dimensions of the design
Functional design: In this step, behavioural aspects of the system and considered. The outcome is usually a timing diagram or other relationship
Logic design: In this step, the functional design is converted into a logic design, using the Boolean. These expressions are minimizing to achieve the smallest logic design
Circuit design: The step involves conversion of boolean expression into a circuit representation by taking into consideration of speed and power
Physical design: In this step, the circuit representation of each component is converted a geometric representation
Design verification: In this step, the layout is verified to ensure the layout meets the system specification and fabrication requirements
Fabrication: This step is followed design verification the fabrication power consists of several steps like preparation of wafer, deposition.
The theory part was done in Morning Session, and afternoon hands on experience in the VLSI Lab was conducted for the students explaining in details the steps involved in VLSI design. The students are very much benefitted from the workshop.
