The importance of leadership skills and what exactly are the leadership skills were taken up, which indeed helped everyone to understand the term leader and leadership in depth. They encouraged everyone to find out the thing that motivates them and very beautifully explained that why and how one needs to keep up with the motivation. The talk proved to be of great help to everyone. It provided a vision, motivation and a will to achieve anything and everything in the future and make our nation proud.

Two Days National Conference on Advancements of Sustainable Materials in Engineering (NCASME-2020)
Due to health concerns and associated travel restrictions being put in place due to the COVID-19 coronavirus, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the National Conference NCASME 2020 until early to mid September. Currently we are working with Organizers to secure new dates, and we will announce them as soon as possible.
One-day Workshop on CFD and its Applications
Resource Person : Mr. M. Krishna Kumar, (JIT, Coimbatore)

Target of Participants : 28 (ASE) VI Semester Students
About the Workshop:
The Workshop titled “CFD and its Applications” was organized to enrich the knowledge of Aerospace students to get exposure on Geometry creation, meshing and CFD analysis for airfoil, wing and nozzle.
The program was started at 9.30 AM with the welcome speech by HOD/AS and followed by introduction of the resource person Mr. M. Krishna Kumar by Mr. J. Siva, Asst. Prof. ASE. The resource person handled an interactive session about the fundamentals of CFD, ICEM CFD and Fluent and also hands on session also conducted to analyse the airfoil, wing and CD Nozzle.
In between interaction with students and questionnaire to test the ability of students and the resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills through different case studies. Finally, the seminar was ended with vote of thanks by Class Representative.

Guest Lecture on Finite Wing Theory and High lift devices
Resource Person : Mr. Hemaraj,Senior Engineer, General Electric Bangalore
Date : 3rd March 2020
About the Programme:
Mr.Hemaraj is currently working for General Electric Bangalore. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master’s Degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with a specialization in low speed aerodynamics. With over 10 years of experience in the field of Aerospace Engineering at various sector and systems, he brings vast knowledge and expertise in wing theory and high lift devices.
He gave lecture on how to evaluate typical airfoil characteristics and two-dimensional flows over airfoil, how to Compute and analyze the incompressible flow over finite wing. Around 62 Aeronautical students attended the guest lecture for the same.

Industry Expert Talk on Career Guidance in Aeronautical Industry

About the Programme:
The event titled “Career Guidance in Aeronautical Industry” was organized to enrich the knowledge and awareness to Aeronautical students to get exposure in career opportunities in aeronautical sectors. The program was started at 10.45 AM with the welcome speech by Dr.G.Ramanan and followed by introduction of the resource person Mr.Tamilarasu, Head of Operations (Aerospace and Defence), Aerotics Technologies by Ms.Ranjitha, Final year student. The resource person handled an interactive session about the more development activities in aviation, aeronautical and defence industries and more career advice and information about the recruitment processes. In between interaction with students and questionnaire to test the ability of students and the resource person motivated the students to enrich their skills through different case studies. Finally, the seminar was ended with vote of thanks.

Industrial Visit – Water Treatment Plant T K Halli

The sonata software face to face interviews test was scheduled 24/02/2020 in ACS College of Engineering at 10:00am. Numbers of students invited for the interview were 45. Around 10-12 panelists lead by Meenakshi, Head of campus recruitment, sonata software limited and her team conducted the face to face interviews separately in respective cabins arranged in the ground floor of the college. The students were requested to assemble in the groud Floor class room and general instructions were given about the schedule. A very good hospitality was provided by the college.
The test went on in many rounds and was carried out till 8:00pm on the same day.
Face to Face interview – Sonata Software Ltd

10 panelists from sonata visited ACS college of Engineering for conducting Face to Face technical round of interview for shortlisted students from online test.
Out of 232 students who wrote online test on 17-2-2020.57 students were shortlisted.
Mrs. Meenakshi, Head of Placement Sonata along with her technical Panelist team conducted interview and shortlisted 33 students on 18-2-2020. There will be another 2 rounds pending which will be done in sonata global village.(will be informed from company when will be conducted)

Online Test by Sonata Software Ltd

The sonata software online test was scheduled on 17/02/2020 in ACS College of Engineering at 10:30am for all the final year students of both ACSCE and RRCE. The students were requested to assemble in the 6th Floor Auditorium and general instructions were given, batch allotment was done.
Mr Vinay Kumar, HR from Sonata Software was present in the campus also Mr Meheboob from Hiremee was also present to take the online test for Sonata through their Platform, (Hiremee).
The test started at 10:30am and the test was taken on Sonata Platform. A total of 232 students from both the campus took place in the process. The branch wise counts from both the colleges are put down in the table below.

The test went on in many rounds and was carried out till 6:00pm on the same day. The test was carried out in First Floor Computer Science Department Lab’s, Second Floor Mechanical Engineering Lab’s, Fifth Floor Basic Sciences Lab’s and Third Floor Bio-medical Engineering Lab’s.
