Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. Electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large- scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits. Alternatively, Electrical engineers are usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy, while electronic engineers are concerned with using electricity to process information. More recently, the distinction has become blurred by the growth of power electronics.

Programme Educational Objectives

PEO#I: our graduates will be able to apply their technical knowledge and take on higher responsibilities in industry, academics, research, employment and product development.

PEO#II: Our graduates with academic excellence, managerial skills and leadership qualities will be in a position to pursue a continual path of professional development, enhancement programs, business links and channelize their knowledge base relevant to their specific career goals

Department Profile

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in year 2011 with under Graduate program with an intake of 60. The course is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to VTU Belgaum. Department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty, having both industrial and vast teaching experience. Department is also aided by eminent visiting professors, who are expertise in the electrical field to impart quality education to our students.

Course includes study in the areas of Power System Analysis, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Computerssimulation and modelling techniques in modern power systems, Machine Design concepts etc.

On successful completion of the course the student may get opportunities to join various Electrical industries like ABB, Areva, Siemens, Alstom, BHEL, PGCIL, NHPC, KPTCL etc.


The Department has well established laboratories with the state-of- the art facilities such as, Electrical Machines laboratory equipped with AC Motors (Induction type, Synchronous type), DC Motors (Shunt, Series, Compound), Generators (AC & DC), Load Banks (Resistive, Inductive and Capacitive), Synchronizing panel, Advanced Electrical Engineering Simulation laboratory with
software such asMATLAB etc.
